The production of Casalvento Iris Butter is featured in a documentary within the television series *Galileo*, broadcast by the German network ProSieben.
Also available in Poland and Russia, it has over 3 million subscribers on its YouTube channel. One of the over 6,000 episodes is dedicated to Iris Pallida and the production of Iris Butter and Absolute in Casalvento.
Claudia Mielke conducts the interviews, and before we even arrive here, we immediately realize she’s been studying. She has sheets of paper full of precise questions. Claudia is a producer and creative director who knows her craft: she decides on shots, lighting, and subjects. For two days, the large Casalvento distillery transforms into a television stage that, in November, discusses the flowers we enjoy in spring.
Outside the distillery, the fog is thick and obscures everything. Filming takes place inside, explaining the details of the plant, the aging of the root, the grinding process, and how Iris Butter and Iris Absolute (also known as resinoid) are obtained.
Speaking of the views of Chianti, Claudia shows me the view from her house of a gulf against a blue sky. She still lives in Liguria.
