What we do

At Casalvento, we cultivate plants derived from selected clones. Our cultivation methods are organic and adhere to Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP). The production chain supplies essential oils, hydrolats, Hyper Hydro, and absolutes. We employ both intensive specialized cultivation and extensive methods, including the wild harvesting of plants from our own lands.

We guarantee sustainability, biodiversity, and respect for our territory.

In the nursery, asexual propagation is used to produce uniform, specialized crops with synchronized flowering and an extract that meets consistent chemical specifications. The company has been cultivating medicinal plants across several hectares since 1962; harvesting is mechanized for intensive crops and performed manually in areas where plants are gathered from the wild. Certified organic cultivation is steadily expanding, with the goal of increasing the number of cultivated species while preserving biodiversity.

Plant clones selected at the facility are not sold to the public.

The arboretum covers an area of ​​2,000 m² and features a 250-meter path. It is home to trees, shrubs, and aromatic plants used in cosmetics. Species include roses, rockrose, almond, hazel, strawberry tree, juniper, honeysuckle, and an olive variety that, in Roman times, yielded an oil known as omphacium, used to produce perfumes.

From here, in summer, the wind wafts away the scent of broom, immortelle, lavender, pine resin...

In Roman times, the viridarium was a space cultivated with ornamental and symbolic plants a place of healing and spirituality that, in medieval monasteries, would evolve into the Hortus Simplicium, dedicated to growing plants for therapeutic remedies. With the advent of modern pharmacology, this heritage fell into oblivion; today, however, ethnobotany has re-evaluated natural active principles, which still form the basis of 60% of pharmaceutical drugs.
